Roof size: 160,000 Square Feet
Issue
The existing modified roofing membrane on the Marlton property was failing from the improper application of a roof coating system. It was discovered that there was moisture trapped between the new coating and the modified membrane. In addition, there were several areas of saturated modified roofing that needed to be removed. Also adding to the problems were several rooftop equipment curbs and skylights that were no longer needed on the roof. The roof needed to be properly reroofed prior to installation of the new rooftop solar system.
The REMTEK Recommendation
Upon investigation of the current roofing system, REMTEK determined that the existing coating system needed to be removed from the surface of the original modified roofing. During the roof preparation, all abandoned rooftop units and skylights were completely removed and filled in to grade with new metal decking and insulation. The roof of choice for this application was a new 20-Year-Diamond-Pledge Warranted, GAF mechanically-attached GAF TPO roofing system. REMTEK worked in conjunction with the solar contractor to ensure all roof areas were secure prior to installation of the ballast solar system.
